• A Master of Fine Arts in Film Production and Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia, Jason Karman's films have travelled internationally, focusing on Asian diaspora and LGBT stories.

    His short film, Lions in Waiting, was selected by Telefilm Canada's Not Short on Talent at Clermont- Ferrand in 2018 and screened at BFI Flare 2018. His debut feature Golden Delicious is supported by Telefilm Canada's Talent to Watch program and was filmed in March 2021 at the height of the pandemic.

    Jason is currently working on a second feature film with Norman Y. Li.

  • A settler born and raised in the Semihamoo Nation (White Rock, BC), Canada Kristyn Stilling has immersed herself into the Canadian film community as an independent Producer with over 13 years of experience.

    Her first feature film, Golden Delicious, premiered at the Vancouver International Film Festival in Oct 2022 and has screened at over 30 festivals including BFI Flare and the Mardi Gras Film Festival in Australia. It won 4 awards at the Reelworld Film Festival, including Outstanding Feature Film, Audience Choice at the Seattle Queer Film Festival, and 3 awards at the Vancouver Asian Film Festival including Best Canadian Feature Film and People's Choice. Golden Delicious was one of the 2020 Telefilm Talent to Watch projects and also received funding from the Canada Council of the Art, the BC Arts Council, and the Frameline Completion Fund.

    Kristyn’s 2020 short film, FREYA, won 5 Leo Awards in 2021 including Best Short Film. FREYA has played over 30 film festivals and won Audience Choice at Fantasia Film Festival, Best Short and Audience Choice at Etheria Film Festival, and was selected by the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival. FREYA sold to CBC Gem and the Dust channel where it has 40K views.

    Kristyn is also the Chair of the Vancouver Short Film Festival and has previously worked for such prestigious organizations as the National Film Board of Canada, eOne, Whistler Film Festival, Crazy8s Film Society, and Kickstart Entertainment.

  • Gorrman Lee is a Chinese-Canadian screenwriter and producer based in Vancouver.

    His credits include writing for: Amazon Prime's The Lake; Netflix's The Imperfects, and The Order; Syfy's Van Helsing. His first feature film, Golden Delicious, was awarded a Telefilm Talent to Watch grant and will be released in 2022.

    He is a fellow of the 2022 Warner Bros Discovery X Canadian Academy Writer's Program, the 2021 BIPOC TV & Film Showrunner Training Bootcamp, and the 2014 Writers Guild of Canada & Bell Media's Diverse Screenwriters Program. He received an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia, and a BFA in Filmmaking from Simon Fraser University.

  • Alfonso Chin is a cinematographer based in Vancouver, Canada.

    His journey to Vancouver began in Mexico where he was born. His multicultural background sparked a desire to experience stories from various cultures, which he found through world cinema, painting, and photography at a young age.

    He has filmed in different formats from 35mm, and 16mm to the latest digital emulsions. From commercials to engaging narratives and documentaries, the story and characters always come first and are always the primary motivation to his approach to lighting and camera movements. He also has a passion and understanding for non-traditional storytelling.

    Alfonso's cinematography for each story is shaped to bring out emotion and to create a visual language that is unique for the story. In a similar way that music, painting, and other art forms stimulate a subconscious impact on the audience. Thus, he draws his influences from world cinema, graphic design, architecture, fine art, photography, music, and painting.

    Alfonso has garnered nominations and awards at the Canadian Society of Cinematographers, Canadian Screen Awards, Ariel Awards (Mexican Academy Awards), and prestigious international festivals.

    His professional industry credits include works for Netflix, Lionsgate, Amazon Studios, and many others.

  • Cardi Wong is a proud Asian Canadian actor born and raised in Vancouver. Golden Delicious was his first ever lead in an independent feature.

    Cardi can be seen in many Hallmark movies, and occasionally pops up in various CW, NBC, and Netflix shows. His most recent work includes a series regular voice-over role in “Supernatural Academy” on Peacock Tv.

    His latest booking saw him fly to Winnipeg to shoot a role in an upcoming series coming to ParamountPlus.

    In his downtime Cardi likes to stay active by going to the gym, and playing ice hockey.

  • Performing across film, television, and theatre, Chris Carson has played roles in hit CW shows including Riverdale, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow as well as Melchior Gabor in Spring Awakening, and Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Chris has previously trained at several acting studios, and most prominently, with Deb Podowski. His performance as Aleks in Golden Delicious is his first leading role in a feature film.

  • Parmiss Sehat (she/her) is an Iranian-Canadian, Jessie award-winning actor and BFA graduate of The University of British Columbia.

    Past theatre credits include: Much Ado About Nothing and The Winter’s Tale (Bard on the Beach) Jabber (Green Thumb/Neworld Theatre), and Sultans of the Street (Carousel Theatre.) Select film/tv include: A Very Merry Bridesmaid, Golden Delicious, The Good Doctor, The 100, and Designated Survivor.

  • Jesse Hyde is an Australian actor, dancer, model and musician. He made his feature film debut in Michael Petroni’s psychological thriller, Backtrack (2015), alongside Sam Neil and Academy Award winner Adrien Brody, of which he played a younger version.

    Jesse was born May 12th, 1997, in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. He is known for Ladies in Black (2018), which includes Julia Ormond, Angourie Rice and Rachael Taylor, Wild Squad Adventures (2017), Dedo (2016) and Prank (2014). Jesse’s latest feature is the Canadian film Golden Delicious (2022), shot in Vancouver, British Columbia.

    Jesse’s athletic ability shone as he played the captain of the basketball team and the main antagonist in this coming-of-age story.

    Jesse has spent the majority of 2022 filming an unannounced international feature film which has been shot in Melbourne, Australia and London, England.

  • Claudia Kai is an Asian-Canadian actor based in Vancouver and Victoria, British Columbia.

    Golden Delicious was her first supporting lead role in an independent feature film.

    Claudia was born and raised in Richmond, British Columbia. At the age of nine, she moved to Hong Kong and lived there for seven years, dedicating her time to competitive figure skating and ice hockey. She went on to study at the University of British Columbia with a full-ride academic scholarship until she decided to switch paths and pursue a childhood dream of hers: acting.

    Claudia’s body of work includes roles in CW shows like Supergirl and Kung Fu, and films The Kidnapping of Abby Hernandez and Golden Delicious.

  • Born and raised in Vancouver, Ryan trained as a chef for 20 plus years before deciding to become an actor.

    Ryan believes the same principles in cooking apply to acting which has made him a quick study, " building a character is a lot like building a dish, you need to add layers and depth into the flavours, most importantly the dish has to be balanced and make sense”.

    Since working on Golden delicious Ryan has gone on to play several recurring roles in the television shows Fakes, Tradewinds, Snowpiercer and The Good Doctor.

    Ryan continues to work occasionally as a chef and still enjoys to create new menus and work with his hands, "I hope that being good at one helps me become better at the other, and keeps me grounded"
